Video Manager at Aimtal LLC

About The Role

Aimtal is looking for a highly-skilled and experienced Video Manager with editing, production, and management experience to join our growing agency. 

The Video Manager will build a new department at Aimtal and will work closely with our creative team, integrated marketing strategists, project managers, and clients to oversee and facilitate the creation of branded promotional video content in order to align with client marketing strategies. This role will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of video editors and motion graphic designers, providing supervision and guidance throughout the editing process, and ensuring that final results are high quality, on time, and within budget. 

The ideal candidate must be able to make decisions and view the design and video projects from a holistic perspective from planning to pre-production and distribution. You will be responsible for bringing video projects to life that align with our clients' marketing strategies, business goals, and expectations. You will use your knowledge to produce, present, and deliver high-quality animation and video work that connect brand story and messaging. 

This position will report to the Senior Creative Manager and will be an integral member of a growing team and department at the agency.

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Manage and oversee the full process of culling and editing raw footage from different sources and shoots, combining it with other clips, animations, and design elements to create a cohesive story.
  • Develop and execute video strategies for client and internal projects
  • Consult and advise clients and the internal team on video editing recommendations during projects, meetings, and presentations
  • Create and develop video concepts and storyboards for videos (both short and long-form)
  • Edit video and audio projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/SFX, media management and archiving project media
  • Manage and mentor other video editors and motion graphic designers (full-time and contractors)
  • Combine visual footage with animations, audio sound effects, dialogue, and music to make engaging content through computer editing software programs 
  • Create different versions of videos to optimize for various social media platforms (i.e. teaser video for podcast episode) 
  • Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos is implemented according to the client's specifications
  • Assist with the development of process documentation for internal pre-production and production workflows 
  • Manage and maintain quality control on all video deliverables 
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on edited footage to ensure alignment between the story, script, and project goals.
  • Prepare and present feedback reports on the performance of other team members in the video department, and identify opportunities for improvement and skill gaps within the team
  • Support in planning and logistics of video shoots as well as the  development of production schedules
  • Create and manage multimedia library to keep all video and audio files organized 
  • Support in evaluating analytics and performance of video content on social media and YouTube

You may be a good fit for this role if you have:

  • 8+ years of video editing experience 
  • 4+ years managing a video and/or production team
  • Portfolio or reel of relevant work 
  • Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Figma, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator 
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience creating motion graphics 
  • Experience with script and storyboard development 
  • Experience with, lighting, set-up, filming, and editing for in-person video productions 
  • Experience within an agency, in-house agency, or post-production studio is a plus
  • Advanced experience editing and inserting sound effects, music, and transitions
  • An understanding of video ad placement within a range of marketing channels including social media 
  • Consulting skills and proactiveness to propose and brainstorm ideas
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent time-management skills 
  • Willing to take and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to communicate and collaborate with internal teams and clients across multiple time zones 
  • A desire to work hours aligning with North America's Eastern time zones
