This Is Construction is a new media brand bringing modern media practices to the out-dated traditional construction media sector. Our tagline is construction’s highlight reel because we seek to deliver the best bits, quickly and in a digestible manner to suit lower attention spans and higher entertainment expectations. After many millennia of unchanged construction practices such as bricklaying and plastering, artificial intelligence and robotics are bringing a construction revolution. 3D printed buildings, driverless excavators, autonomous bricklaying and robotic inspection dogs are just some of things we are reporting on and broadcasting to Australia through short-form video and high quality journalism. With over 40,000 video views per month, our audience of construction professionals is growing steadily. We are now looking for an experienced and creative growth/marketing virtuoso to join our team as cofounder and accelerate this growth using primarily non-paid/organic methods. The Role The chosen candidate will be responsible for setting the audience growth objectives and executing on growing our audience of engineers, architects, projects managers, building consultants. Primary activities would include: Research, plan and develop the user acquisition funnel to intercept the target market and expose them to our brand. Develop and execute a social media organic growth strategy. Brainstorm and generate creative acquisition strategies (competitions, publicity, partnerships, etc.). Undertake online and offline outreach to get in front of new audiences. The Requirements The ideal candidate will have proven experience strategising, developing and executing customer acquisition in a marketing or growth role, with a primary focus on non-paid methods. Experience in media will be looked upon favourably but is not essential. Must-haves: An outstanding attitude. 2-3 years experience is a user acquisition role either for your own business or other businesses. Proven experience in non-paid social media marketing (primarily LinkedIn & Instagram). Be able to pick up a phone and actually talk into it like the olden days. Nice-to-haves: Experience in running paid campaigns on Facebook/Instagram and LinkedIn. Moderate competence in user analytics. Base level knowledge of SEO principles. The awareness to realise that offline isn’t dead. The Offer This is an unpaid role - you will come on board as a major shareholder (33%) and business partner with 2 other founders (subject to a share vesting period and cliff).
