Digital Product Analyst at Blissful Life Foundation

About Us

Blissful-life.org (BLF) is an incubator for new technologies and outreach opportunities for the worldwide Transcendental Meditation (TM) organization. Over the past 60 years, the Transcendental Meditation technique has been learned by more than 10 million people worldwide via personal instruction from tens of thousands of certified teachers. TM comes from the ancient Vedic tradition, which is also the source of Yoga and Ayurveda. The effectiveness of TM is validated by hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific studies and is increasingly being utilized by individuals, companies, NGO’s and governments to address the epidemic of stress and trauma faced by the world today (see, for example, www.DavidLynchFoundation.org). BLF is a growing team of about 30 people distributed across American and European timezones, leveraging modern technology and management best practices to make TM more available to people everywhere.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated person to run our “Hypothesis Testing” and “Analytics & Reporting” programs for both native mobile and web applications. The data analyst will be collaborating with Design, Technology, Product, Content, Marketing and Customer Support teams, and other business stakeholders throughout the company and partners. The ideal candidate should have a deeply ingrained, customer-first philosophy. This will be a critical role in the organization, and applicants should have a proven track record of developing and executing tests, analyzing and validating data, and presenting clear, actionable reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About You

You are curious and love critical thinking, and are always looking for deep insights in the data. You are able to recognize valuable data to identify key opportunities or issues and produce truthful and actionable reports. You understand the importance of actionable data to drive technical, design and business decisions. You are comfortable with JavaScript, HTML and CSS. You have a good understanding of or interest in learning concepts in probability and statistics (e.g. methods such as t-tests, ANOVA, multivariate regression, logit with understanding of underlying mathematics).

Responsibilities

  • Own the entire loop of capturing the right data, analyzing it, and providing feedback and recommendations to improve products and services

  • Hypothesis Validation – Develop hypotheses, measurable business and testing objectives, and define test KPIs (financial and engagement metrics) to clearly validate opportunities.

  • Collaborate – Work effectively with cross-functional partners.

  • Test Analysis – Drive informed A/B or MVT analysis, understand the “why?” behind the results. Derive meaningful cohorts (e.g. active users, churn risks etc) and refined tests from the analysis.

  • Calculate Traffic Allocation – Understand traffic baselines for each area of business being tested, identify traffic required to achieve statistical significance; effectively use traffic for various concurrent tests.

  • Deliver Deep Insights – Objectively deliver testing insights and help create a culture of data-driven decision making.

  • Prioritize and Streamline – Maintain a testing calendar to make the best use of available traffic and testing resources and to avoid any conflicts between tests.

  • Tell a Concise Story – At completion of tests, build timely, compelling, fact-based test recaps that communicate the business “story” behind the data and test outcomes. Don’t be afraid to be the bearer of bad news.

  • Explain the Concise Story – Identify successes, failures, trends, and effectively communicate these findings to the organization. If test results are positive – analyze KPI improvements in pre/post test roll-outs; if results are negative – perform driver analysis to recommend the next iteration of that test.

  • Provide Regular Analytics & Reporting – Maintain ongoing “Analytics & Reporting” program with touchpoint performance, identify anomalies, and provide timely recommendations on optimizations.

  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Office / Google Sheets (pivot tables, Sum if statements, VLOOKUP, etc.).
